day in nashville

We are loving our time here in Nashville! This morning we grabbed breakfast from a yummy little local spot (not ordering coffee drinks when not at Starbucks again). Had lunch with the Kentucky trip and then headed out to a park in downtown Nashville. It had fountains and a huge map of Tennessee and a train track ran right over it- so fun.

Wilson and Ben have been attached at the hip since he got here today and MP and Campbell were soooooo cute together at the park.

GrandJules and Simon were also pretty cute.

This smile makes me so happy- it's so pure.

When the kids were done playing in the water they put on a mini concert for Alison, Jeanne, Julie, Micah and me.
They rocked it out!

Then we checked out the map.

A GREAT DAY!!!

visitors

So Alison and I headed to Nashville yesterday to spend a few days at the Walkers house on our way to the BIG camp out. Ron, Jeanne, and Micah have been great hosts and today they took it above and beyond by having Taido and 30 kids from the youth group over for lunch on their way home from Kentucky. It was so fun visiting with them and it has been so fun being the visitors here with the Walkers.

back to life...

...back to reality. We have been back for a few days and with the exception of working Pete and I have been laying low with the kiddos. Yesterday we stayed in again, but decided to have some visitors. Simon and MP came over for some Lego play and lunch and then we had the James and the Days (minus all daddies) over for dinner and free for all playtime.

I couldn't resist lining these cuties up for a quick pic, just sad that baby D missed the picture, you have to move fast with this crew.

by the way...check out Vivian who is rock'n it. She had another ct this week and is doing great.

san marco

My parents house in Jacksonville is in an adorable part of town called San Marco. We walked to local places for lunch and dinner most of the days we were there and Amy and I enjoyed being walking distance to some super cute shops.

Until I steal Amy's pictures this is my Florida trip wrap up. We had an amazing time. It's crazy how a few days away from your reality can help you appreciate things so much more. I feel like that has been very true this week, not just for me, but for my kids too.

the beach

After St Augustine we headed to the beach. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and we had a great time once we got over the guilt of not having our children with us to see the beach.

St. Augustine

On Thursday we headed to St. Augustine to do some sight seeing and some shopping.

It is a beautiful city with amazing buildings.

breakfast

We ate out for almost every meal, but the guys did go to the store and get us some breakfast goodies. Then they made Amy and I breakfast while we got ready- bonus good husband points for that.
Here they are enjoying their breakfast in a bacon smoke cloud, on this morning the smoke alarm went off twice, but the breakfast was super good!

Grown Up Getaway

Ever since our last weekend getaway with Amy and Nathan we have been talking about taking a week long vacation together. It took us a year and a half to make it happen, but we did it! On Monday we headed to Florida to take advantage of my parents house that hasn't sold and a little grown up time.

We left on Monday afternoon and spent the night just outside of Atlanta. This part of our trip was planned just so we could make a special stop at Trader Joe's. It is an amazing grocery store that is in bigger cities and a place I can spend an obscene amount of money and time.

Then we had the fun task of repacking with our new goodies.

...Florida still to come.....

And wish Lucy a Happy Birthday!!!

peachy

On Wednesday morning Alison and i picked up Grandmother and headed to Mayflower to do some peach pick'n.

We picked a ton of peaches!

And as an added bonus we caught the end of the blackberry picking season. We picked 6 quarts (I picked 1 and Alison picked 5).
They are huge, delicious berries.
